HURON – Joseph S. Passafiume, 89, of Huron, died Friday, May 31, 2019 at his home.
He was born February 8, 1930 in Cleveland and has been a resident of Huron since the 1960’s.
He retired from New Departure, General Motors, Sandusky, in 1999.
He was a US Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the American Legion, Sandusky and enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo, boating and trips to Canada.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean (Barry) Honse of Lorain; sons, Joseph (Patty) Passafiume Jr, of Perry, OH, Robert, of Geneva, OH, David (Kathy) of Harpers Field, OH, James of Unionville, OH, Michael (Cynthia) of Columbus, OH, and Samuel of North Port, FL; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Maryann Passafiume of Cleveland; and a brother, Samuel (Billy) Passafiume of Cleveland.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maryanne (Kurppa) in 2012 and his parents, Samuel and Marcella (Finucan) Passafiume.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St, Huron where services will be held Wednesday, June 5th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Sikorski officiating.
Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery, Huron.
