John J Kolenich

HURON - John J. Kolenich (age 85), of Huron, OH, first born of the late John A. and Julia (Vasil), passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019.  Beloved husband of Rosemarie (Siewko) and devoted father of Deborah (Dr. James) Richards of Newark, DE, Laura (Michael) Thumel of Chicago, IL and Jeffrey (Lori) of Bay Village, OH. Loving grandfather of Dr. Christopher (Dr. Lauren) Richards, Dr. Matthew Richards, Alison Thumel and John Thumel (deceased).  Loving great-grandfather of Bradley and Corinne Richards.  Oldest brother of Jerome (Fran), Dr. James (Marie), Joel (deceased) and sister-in-law Mary Ann, Jeffrey (deceased) and Juliann (Carl) Stephen.  

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses be offered for John or contributions made to Benedictine High School in John’s name.

   Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeffery Sikoski officiating,  

   There will be a reception immediately following Mass at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter Church gathering space.  

   John was a proud graduate of Benedictine High School and Fenn College and served as a financial executive until his retirement. Farewell to a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
