HURON — Gerald W. Schofield Sr., 66, died Monday, May 6, 2019, in Huron.
He was born Dec. 3, 1952, in Berea, Ohio, moved to Huron in 1963 and was a lifelong resident.
Jerry was a member of the Huron Eagles Club and Painters Local 788, were he was a drywall finisher for over 30 years. He was the owner of Patio Tavern and was considered by many the “Mayor of Mitawanga.” He enjoyed going fast on anything that had a motor.
He is survived by his son, Gerald W. Schofield Jr. of Sandusky; brother, Dale (Joyce) of Huron; and nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Virginia Schofield; maternal grandmother, Mildred Reed; and brother, Thomas Schofield.
At Jerry’s request, cremation will talk place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Patio Tavern, Mitawanga, at a later date.
