Dorothy Janis (Hughes) Harlan

HURON – Dorothy Janis (Hughes) Harlan, 88, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at her residence.

   She was born June 1, 1929 in Townsend Twp. and lived in Huron from 1950 to 1988 when she and her husband moved to Yellville, Arkansas.  She moved back to Huron 2 years ago.  She retired after working for 20 years for Imperial Clevite, of Milan.

   She loved her dogs, gardening, and enjoyed traveling with her husband.   Dorothy was an avid college basketball fan and her favorite team was the University of Arkansas Razorbacks.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Yellville, Arkansas.  

   She is survived by her son, Christopher (Becky) Harlan of Norwalk; her four grandchildren, Shaun Green, Jona Tyler, Joshua Harlan and Lindsay Scott; and seven great-grandchildren.

   She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Harlan in 2008; a daughter, Stephanie Burke Tyler; and her parents, Harold and Helen (Miller) Hughes.

   A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
