Deborah "Debbie" Ann Baechly

Sandusky -- Deborah “Debbie” Ann Baechly, 64, formerly of Austintown, Ohio, passed away at her Sandusky home on Thursday, October 17, 2019. 

   Debbie was born on July 10, 1955 in Austintown, Ohio to Wilma E. Galik (formerly Baechly) and Joseph J. Baechly.  
   Debbie was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and was an active, loving mother to her son Gary A. Pritchard Jr.  She spent many happy years proudly raising her son in Austintown, creating fond memories as both a soccer and football mom before moving to Sandusky, Ohio upon her son’s departure to attend The Ohio State University. She took pride in her commitment and volunteer work for her son’s various sports teams. Debbie was known for being a staunch and avid Ohio State University football fan. Debbie loved talking on the phone with her closest of friends, listening to Rod Stewart songs, spending time at the beach with family, but most especially, she loved time spent with and spoiling her two grandsons Derek and Tyler Pritchard.
   Debbie is survived by her son Gary A. (Natalie) Pritchard Jr; sister Barbara (Rudy) Schlais; grandsons Derek Pritchard and Tyler Pritchard, and a number of other loving relatives including niece Pamela (Darin) Yates; nephew Rudy (Bridget) Schlais; six great nieces and nephews, and many other family members and close friends. Debbie will be truly missed by all.
   Debbie is preceded in death by her parents; including her stepfather Stephen J. Galik, and brother John Baechly. 
   For those that have known Debbie and wish to say their final farewell, a graveside service will take place at Perkins Cemetery (6018 Beatty Ln, Sandusky, Ohio) on Friday, November 1st at 2:00pm, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved mother and stepfather.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior St, Sandusky, 44870, in her name.
