Arlene Vonthron

HURON – Arlene Vonthron, 91, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Admiral’s Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center, Huron.

She was born March 5 1926 in Elizabeth, NJ. She has been a resident of Huron since 1965 coming from East Orange, NJ. She graduated from Elizabeth General Hospital School of Nursing and worked at Providence Hospital, Sandusky for 18 years and retired in 1984 as an Operating Room Supervisor.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Huron. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening and most of all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Carl (Deborah) Vonthron of Huron; two daughters, Barbara (Brad) Gerke of Catawba, and Shirley Hasenmeier, of Huron; 6 grandchildren, Emma Rae Vonthron, Paul (Amanda) Hasenmeier, Benjamin Hasenmeier, Melissa (Jason) Gibboney, Alicia Good, and Robert (Pookie) Good; 9 great-grandchildren, Oshae, Gracie, Kylie, Kennedy, Khloe, Connor, Claire, Xavier and Alexandria. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Vonthron in 2011; granddaughter, Tanny Vonthron in 2014, son-in-law, Paul Hasenmeier in 2012.

Private services and burial will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
