Ruth I Blough

HURON – Ruth I. (Gow) Blough, 100, of Huron, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Erie County Care Facility, Huron.

   She was born July 13, 1911 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident of Huron.  She graduated from Huron High School in 1929.

   She is a member of the United Methodist Church, Huron and a former member of the Rebecca Lodge in Attica.  She was an avid sports fan for the Cleveland Browns, Cavs, the Indians, and for The Ohio State University teams.

   She is survived by a daughter, Karen Colon, of Huron; two grandchildren, Cynthia Ickes of Fremont, and William (Rachel) Colon of Perrysburg; 7 great grandchildren, Tenesha and Jay Hartley, Christian and Cody Ortolani, Maia, Mason, and Sage Colon; and 1 great-great-granddaughter Savannah Hartley.

   Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Milo Blough in 1987, parents, Earl and Josephine (Boise) Gow; a sister, Eleanor Long; a brother, Orville Gow, a brother in infancy; and 2 great grandchildren, Sheena Hartley and Sierra Colon.

   Friends may call Thursday from noon until time of service 2 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron.  Rev. J. Roger Skelley-Watts will officiate.

   Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky 44870 or to the United Methodist Church, 338 Williams Street, Huron 44839.
